They are not THAT expensive however for someone who is pretty poor right now is kind of pricy. However, I was soo inspired. I wanted to make some jewlery that is fun to make and cute to wear. SO..... After an insomniac night crowded by flying ideas, I have found a solution~~~!!! The materials are very cheap and can be found in your local craft store.
All you need is:
a piece of polymerclay with color of your choice
a pasta roller of just any thing that you can flatten the clay with such as a piece of glass
any stencil that you can find that inspire you (you can find them online or local bookstore)
any kind of style and length of chain
a jump ring
a cutter
a plier
an oven
clear spray or clear coating for polymerclay
1) Roll out or flatten your polymerclay to the thickness that you desire and put it in the refrigerator to cool and harden the clay a little. It is easier to cut when it's a little bit more hardened. Don't worry it won't get too hard until you bake it.
2) Copy your stencil that you have chosen and cut it out.
3) Take your clay out of the frige and places the stencil on it.
4) Carefully cut out your clay. Please take your time to cut it out because this is the most important part AND you don't want to cut your finger.
5) Make a hole on the clay where you want it to hang on the necklace. Please make a hole that is big enough for your jump ring to go through.
6) Read the instruction on the back of the polymerclay wrapper of how to bake your clay. Put your clay on an piece of alluminum sheet into a baking pane. Put it in the oven and bake.
7) When the clay is done baking, take it out and set it out to cool.
8) After the clay is cooled, coat your clay with clear coating.
9) Put your jump ring through the hole that you created and put your necklace through.
You can be creative with your jewlery. You can use Asian characters, or cute font to speel out words, use glitter. Do whatever YOU want!
